What exactly does a forest ranger do?

I have the basic idea, but I want to know exactly what they do. I might follow this career path but I want to be sure I know what I'm doing first.

this is a job that has lots of variety1)you can be in charge of a Provencal park or state park that has camping sites and be in charge of the daily maintenance and operations of it2)in charge of a similar mentioned park but it has historical value and is only for day use and provides guided tours3)in charge of certain land areas  private and government owned and observe tree harvesting procedures and other land uses that people stay within the guidelines4)a conservation officer to enforce proper hunting and fishing laws
