  1. They do what their names describe them to do. Weather or not they work or not depends on you. Everyone is different. Some people respond differently to medications then others.

I had overwhelming anxiety. It turned out to be my use of Splenda. Yup Splenda. How could something that taste so good, be so bad?

I like to say sucralose, not Splenda, because that is what Splenda is. And it is in a lot of stuff. Sadly, the package doesn't have to say Splenda or diet to have sucralose in it. You have to read labels. So, you might be using it and don't even know it!

Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it, including overwhelming anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues and more.

Go ahead, google: anxiety splenda or anxiety sucralose or insomnia splenda or insomnia sucralose

The slogan, "Made from sugar..." is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.

carbon monoxide - made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air

  2. My anti anxiety meds make me drowsy. So I take them at night. And the antidepressants just make me feel better.

  3. I am glad you asked. The most widely used meds for this are SSRIs or Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor. They work by keeping the cell that released the serotonin from taking it back in before the other cell has a chance to receive it.

they make me feel better but everyone is different. they also kind of make me indifferent to certain emotions or situations. I do not get quite as happy but i also dont get as sad. little things dont bother me a bit. So yeah, they do calm you down.

Here is more info on SSRIs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_s...

  4. With any medications, it depends on the person

Anti anxiety is to help calm you down

AntiDepressants is to help your mood... given correctly, they both work well.. but you have to be honest with your doctor

  5. Pills like anti-depressants and anti-anxiety supply/trigger chemicals in your brain that would help lessen your depression or anxiety. Neurologists and psychiatrists say that certain chemicals in the brain affect our behavior which makes us feel depressed or anxious.

So these anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills aid in correcting these unbalanced chemicals so that they could go back to their normal level. For example, low supply of serotonin in our brain significantly affects our mood, so anti-depressant pills produce/supply serotonin.

But you have to take these pills with caution because they do have some side effects and not all pills might work for you, so you should only take what your doctor had prescribed and don't hesitate to inform him/her if you start to feel something weird after you take the pills.

Also, when you take pills, don't expect that you would quickly feel better. You would only start to see improvements after 4-6 months of taking them so don't feel upset if you don't feel any change during the first quarter. It takes time (and also will power and determination) before you could fully recover from your condition.
