  1. hi, ur car battery died as it did not got its nutrient .i.e. water. water is needed to dilute the cell and make the charging easy. so u need to put diluted water and recharge it to work again.

    good luck

  2. no it means the acid fluid level in your battery is low try adding some distilled water, dry cell batterys dont have a cover for inspection because they have no acid fluid at all, maintnance free batteries dont have access door to check fluid but some do have fluid and are not serviceable.

  3. Many of the newer batteries are maintenance free, and are sealed, and water can not be added.

Not a good idea, when most of these batteries will not last for the warranty period: say 72 months, and then again the battery is prorated on the use. Like having carpet in the house for 5 years, and there is a flood, the insurance company will normally charge a proration rate.

Normally when a battery is ran out of water completly the battery is destroyed due to sulfation to the lead plates inside the casting and at times these can also short out inside.

Normally battery should be checked every other fuel fill up, like tire pressures and engine fluids.

You probably have a less then 100 percent chance that adding water will restore the state of your battery when it was new, or even a month ago.

  4. If it is indeed a "dry cell" battery, then there should be no fluid in there. Maintenance free means that it can be used under high load and not need to be tuned up every so often, like some.

It is not ruined, it just needs a charge. Jump start it like any normal battery, and then drive your car for about 20 minutes to charge it fully.
