  1. Come, come dear people, thay aren't as bad as that. They work hard at their ambasadorial duties.I must admit though that Phil the Greek is a bit of a pain in the butt as is Charles and Anne oh,Andrew too, oops, nearly forgot Edward.Chucks kids seem very nice but Andrews,OMG Right royal pains in the ars* they are. They seem to think that they must have round the clock protection as they flit from country to country to go to parties, must take after their mother I think.By and large though,I think that the system works,if it wasn't for the other parasites it would be very nice.

  2. They hold together the concept of a United Kingdom.

  5. sweet nothing!! just live of the hard working subjects who are foolish enough to still have them there in this day and age...cost of the Royal Family better spent in our hospitals and education system

  6. Well I once asked Mrs Elizabeth Gota Saxe-Coburg aka The Queen of England and spinster of this parish the very same question and she said that she spent most of her time following corgies and shooting foxes. Doesn't exactly seem like a hard life to me. And her husband, Mr Philip Greekbloke just makes models of horse-drawn carriages. Oh, and he's also a very good contortionist who can put his foot in his mouth just like that.

  7. Get pissed up every day paid for by the tax payers!!

  8. Absoluteyl nothing but drain the taxpayers money and make inane comments.

  9. yer maaam curtsy curtsy

  10. drink tea, laugh at commoners, pretend to hunt foxes and make money from tax payers

To the Land of Oz Look no offence

    I love you Guys

  13. Well I wouldn't have their job for all the whisky in Scotland. They do promote a lot of Americans to spend over here.  I admire the Queen as I bet her and Phil. would rather have a dram and put their feet up or foot in in his case.  Meeting all those slevering Councillors and people sooking up to them, would p**s anybody off = I just wouldn't get out of bed if I were them.  They should retire and let my husband do the hard work,as he is off his rocker anyway but means well but I won't do it = imagine no f**s for a couple of hours, and I am bone idle and would prefer to be left in peace and privilege with no effort.  Sound.  Anyway they are aliens to me, altho I love Harry just like me he prefers a wee drinkie and fun instead of all the pomp and ceremony, and WORK.

  14. They are figureheads. They are for tourism and they open buildings and promote charity and generally raise people's patriotic feelings for living in the country. They are just celebrities with a link to our history that people like to remember.

  15. I suppose we would be lost without them!  Queen Elizabeth had just come to the throne when I was born.  My mum and dad bought me quite a few books on the Royal Family when I was a small child and I remember enjoying the pictures and stories about them.  But you ask what exactly does the Royal family do, well to be honest I don't think it's very much.  Prince Charles won't eat his eggs unless they are done specifically the way he likes them and he talks to his plants... I hope he never becomes King.  Prince William on the other hand (in my opinion) would make a good King.

  16. Wave

  17. The Royal Family cost each British taxpayer 62p per year.  Which is less than MPs cost, and far less than the 'can't work won't work' brigade do.

  18. bunch of out of touch *** holes.. cant stand them like many British!

  19. Absolutely nothing in my opinion

  20. In addition to a monarch's constitutional duties, The King/Queen and the royal family all have an important role to play in public. As a national figurehead, the monarch and its royal family provides a focus for identity, offers recognition of achievement of all kinds, and supports the ideals of public and charitable work.

For example, Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, acts as a focus for national unity and pride by means of regular visits in the UK, her other realms, the Commonwealth and overseas destinations. The Queen is supported by other members of the Royal Family, who also carry out thousands of visits each year.

The Queen recognises excellence and achievement. This takes place in many ways: through Royal visits which provide a 'seal of approval' to a charity or community; through the award of honours and prizes to outstanding individuals; and through messages sent to those celebrating special birthdays or wedding anniversaries.

The Queen and the Royal Family also play an important part in the public and voluntary sector. Through involvement with hundreds of charities, military units and other organisations, they promote the ideal of service to others.

Note: The British monarchy is a system of government in which a hereditary monarch is the sovereign of the United Kingdom and its overseas territories, and holds the now constitutional position of head of state. According to convention, the Queen's powers are exercised upon the advice of her prime minister. She does however possess certain reserve powers which she may exercise at her own discretion. In practice, political power is exercised today through Parliament and by the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

  21. They *** around posing

they are principally anthropological specimens to the delight of gawking  yanks

  22. tourism ?  that's a real lame defence of the royal scum.  no-one goes to paris ?  or new york ?  probably a d**n sight more than come to london each year.  as far as i am concerned we should get rid, soon.  i am proud to be british but ashamed at our national anthem, it assumes so much that no longer applies to the majority of british people ie. that we all worship a christian god and are all happy with the centuries of tyranny imposed upon us by self appointed murdering thieving b******s.

  23. Keeps us from being like the French, or the Italians, or worst of all - the USA.

  24. Bring £millions into the country from tourists who come to see them. The constitutional head of the country and the Church of England. In some way the are holding up the progress of the communists who wish us to become a republic. Parliament still pays homage to them. Unfortunately GB has a controlling body that is intent of destroying everything that identifies GB and destroying our heritage an stately buildings. Even our history is being denied. The schools idea of teaching history is to teach about Jack the Ripper whilst ignoring such as the Magna Carta, the basis of the UKs and Americas constitution.

  25. The royal family is very busy in the UK,  their calender is usually scheduled up to 2 years in advance.

    The Queens.

The Queen is Head of State of the UK. She Heads the Commonwealth of Nations, the armed forces, the Church of England and the royal household.  She attends state events, opens parliament, hosts visiting heads of state, confers national honours, officially opens public buildings, supports charities and represents the nation in times of celebration and crisis.

Prince Philip is patron of many charities and responsible for the day to day running of the Queens own lands involving organisation and business acumen at a local community level.

Prince Charles supports the Queen in her roles in issuing honors, attending national events and acting as privy counsellor and counsellor of state.   In a given year he will carry out over 600 official engagements within the UK and overseas.  He is patron of over 380 organisations of all kinds of affiliations and charities many of which promote the interests and improvement of British society.

Princess Anne is president of Save the Children, and a member of the International Olympic Committee.  (She represented Britain as an Olympic Athlete in equestrian).  Her work takes her all over the world in support of developing countries and to charities within the UK in support of the Queen and as patron herself.

Prince Andrew works as Britain's special representative for international trade and investment.  He helps improve opportunities for British companies wanting to expand their trade overseas.

Princes William and Harry are slowly expanding the roles they carry out as they grow up.  Prince William is currently patron of a charity for the homeless and a conservation group in Africa.  Prince Harry has previously taken a role promoting sport to children.

The British monarchy works very hard to promote the interests of Britain both at home and abroad.   The pomp and circumstance brings in huge tourist dollars, not to mention the open houses that can be visited.  When people think of visiting England the first stop would be the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.    It is rather surprising just how much the royals contribute to Britain in all kinds of ways.

  26. Fu*k all, and before everyone moans about me I'm English.

  27. Apart from generating millions of pounds in tourism they are a focal point for the british public and are the buffer between the elected government and the population. The armed forces pay allegiance to the throne, not the government, and we cannot therefore have a coop as happens in other countries, and although I`m not a great fan of Prince Andrew he does a lot of work abroad, especially in the Middle East endorsing British companies for contracts abroad, where the final say so rests with the Royal Family of the country.

  28. The only thing they do is laugh at their subjects for being so gullible and stupid to accept them as 'Royals'

We are all mugs. Support the campaign for a British Republic now.

  29. They don't do anything that's worthwhile - they're a total waste of space. The queen is a constitutional monarch which just means she has no power, the rest are a bunch of hangers-on who free load of the state. Apart from this. they are one of the most famous dysfunctional families in the world - hardly something to be proud of!!

People try to justify their existence by saying they bring a great deal of revenue into the country through tourism - that may be so but they spend many, many times the amount they bring in in the pursuit of their pointless, extravagant lifestyles.

Best thing would be to get rid of the bunch of ugly in-breds once and for all!

  30. Each year they receive the biggest social security cheque in the world. And then the spongers spend it on all manner of jolly good pastimes

  31. Troooooping

And the odd blood sport or ten

    I'm a Brit too
