well it could mean a mediocre explosion.

but i think she referring to the working man "middle" neither rich nor poor. and by explosion maybe she had a head for economics because of course having an extremely large "middle-class would be great for an economy. just my opinion have you googled the song ?

Middle Class explosion refers to the  intensity of explosion that is neither  very  strong that causes great damages  nor the weak sort of explosion which causes very less damages or  harmless at all.
