What exactly happened with russia and georgia??

I heard this from the horses mouth and from overseas, but this little area didn't want to be part of

Georgia or Russian and Georgia attacked them and then Russian pured in to run them out.  But that is contary to our media reports.  Then some say it's because they are going to join NaTO and they have sent the 3rd largest amount of troops to help us in Iraq, so only time will tell.  Take care.

South Ossetia wants independence and georgia will not grant it to them.. they where getting out of hand so georgia sent in troops... most south ossetians are russian citizens and russia says it is happy to protect their people. so russia sent in troops and tanks...

S.O. wants independance but Georgia wants to keep them(witch is their right to do) and Russia launched a full blowin military offensive to free S.O.(witch they have no right to do) that would be like the US and our allies invading Tibet in China because they want independance Russia is way out of line
