What exactly i require to make a wifi 10db antenna?

i made a 10 db antenna but it only worked within the house, i need to catch i signal of about 1 km. pls let me know what material to use in making the reflector and how thick it should be.

Interesting possibility.  I had no idea that wifi would not attenuate to background at 1 km.  Perhaps the Russian embassy in Washington could tell you how to make such an antenna, and even point you to sources.  From their experience with satellite phones, al Qa'ida should also be able to tell you how to pick up weak signals.  Or maybe you could pick up some pointers from an off-duty radio technician from one of those Chinese fishing trawlers close offshore but outside U.S. jurisdiction.  Colombian drug smugglers have pretty sophisticated listening equipment, far more expensive than your local electronics outlet carries  . . . maybe the local cocaine dealer would have some contacts that could help you.

Have you done a signal check to verify that there is even a signal at that distance?

1KM?  That's commercial grade.  I don't think you will reach that type of output on a home hookup.
