it available? I read today on Yahoo Q/A that its a great source of protein, and I wonder how you would prepare it? It it comparable to tofu, which I like? Also, how much of it on a weekly basis would you want to eat? This is not for weight building, but for health purposes. Is it naturally salty, like celery is?

  1. I had poi at a luau when I was on Maui a gajillion years ago. I liked it fine.

  2. I would rather buy a taro roots at any oriental store and boil it like yam then put butter and a bit of sugar, it is nice with hot coffee. I have tasted hawaiian poi when I was a kid,I don't care very much for it.

  3. WHATEVER''

  4. underground cooked pig,but with the cruel way they keep

importing new  pigs instead of raising them on Hawaiian islands --I would not eat it.

  5. it's gross

  6. It is taro root pounded into a paste.  The first AND LAST time I had it was about 38 years ago.  I could only take one small sample.  It is nasty.  I also live in the SF bay area, and don't know where you can buy it.  Honestly, I really haven't been looking for it.
