  1. "It" is not "They". The NYSE Euronext is a merger between the NYSE (NY Stock Exchange - formerly just NYSE, then NYSE Group) and Euronext (the biggest pan-european stock exchange based in Paris).

    It is the largest equity exchange in the world. It is where the biggest buyers and sellers of capital (money to fund businesses) meet to either buy or sell ownership in the company.
