  1. because he and they want a police state in this country.

  2. I have no idea. Is he planning on a lock-down?

  3. I think he has plans for his own brown shirts. I bet the Black Panthers and American Muslims will be a easy recruit for his personal army.

  4. I see it in the news all the time. City and state police are getting their budgets cut and have less resources and people to work with. O.B. is saying they need budget considerations equal to the military's as they are as important to our safety and welfare as a strong military is. Now add teachers and schools to that list and we might just have something! Amazing how many people jump on the Gestapo band wagon when all he is saying is police are important to our safety. Get real people. They, (Reps and Dems) already have this gestapo like force in many different forms. FBI, CIA,NSA etc. etc. Please think and think for yourselves people!

  5. The Gestapo* comes to mind when I hear something like that.

I guess we will see more things like what they did to that reporting in Denver last night (who was on a public sidewalk taking pictures of high ranking party officials, seems heavy-handed to me, since the guy wasn'f from Fox).

    * Look it up if you don't know much about WWII and Germany.

  6. Boy, that's a little scary.  Well funded I can deal with, equipped as well as the military is where we cross the line into Marxism.  I know here in Baltimore I'm ready for a troop surge to get all the goddamn junkies and crackheads and their suppliers out of here.

  7. Many times during budget shortfalls for towns, cities, villages, and counties Police and first responders have their budgets cut first.  The Federal goverment funds the military very well, yet does little to support police agencies directly.  Obama's stance is Police Forces should be well funded so that they can do the best job they can.

  8. Where'd he say that?  I've not heard that one catch much fodder as of yet.

  9. I think he means that so much money goes to the military that some of it should go to the nationally underfunded police departments who are charged with keeping the public populace safe

  10. The military is not (and can not be) unionized.  Civlian police forces are unionized and he just bought a lot of their votes.

  11. He means that he plans to increase funding to law enforcement agencies. Which is a good plan, but they way he wants to do it is all wrong. He plans on raising taxes and downsizing the military to free up the funds to put toward law enforcement agencies. Basically, if he gets elected, he is going to do the same thing Bill Clinton did.

  12. His own secret police...

  13. Scary huh?

Civilian police, and an FBI, and a CIA.

I noticed how he changed his mind on wiretapping.

The man hopefully will not be our President.

  14. At least Obama is honest about bringing oppression unlike all the presidents before him... that's a change.

And Obama is going to change America by being the first black presidential nominee which is the bigger story isn't it.  Even though His birth certificate has been speculated to be false he still may be president even if he's not a natural born citizen...that's a change

the only thing that he won't change is the slogan that every president uses and even some dictators like hitler used...the slogan of change...  Not to mention that Obama or McCain are just an extension of Bush Tyranny.  Let me get into my free speech zone before i get arrested for disturbing the elitist peace.

  15. He is stating that the police force should have the same financial flexibility and the military. In the military when funds are appropriated for units, they are given leeway in any case of new equipment or refurbishing of such. The funds are also given out by size of unit. He just wants to see appropriate funds diversified to departments in need

  16. Probably alluding to the fact that many state and local police forces have extremely limited resources and manpower. The DoD is a friggin' moneyhole, and you wouldn't believe the amount of stuff that just gets "lost." That said, ALL police and military organizations are in dire need of streamlining in all senses of the word.

  17. Police forces are the responsibility of individual states and smaller jurisdictions therein.  The federal government has nothing to do with Police pay (who incidentally get paid better than the military).  I'm not saying that it shouldn't happen, but it does.
