I know it is a "Cross Browser Plug-in" that can work on my "Internet Exsplorer",.etc etc.

But what does it give me that i haven't already got?

I've been doing my own research, but all i get is the same Jargon,..which isn't really helping.;(

What are the benefits of having it on my PC?

What will change when i have it?,

I'm running a Windows XP PC Media Centre Edition,Version:2002,Service Pack Three.

Thanks for any feedback. ;)

  1. Silverlight is Microsoft's answer to Adobe Flash. It's a competing standard to Flash.

  2. It is a browser plugin you are right! It helps playing animations and multimedia on web pages like abobe's flash and shockwave player. Now web pages may also contain contents that will require silverlight to play the content!!

  3. This is a software which is safe as it is recommended by Microsoft also created by it....this software is needed on some websites to enable clients to view objects which will be impossible to view without it...its like how Flash Player is need for games.....this Silverlight software may enable you to stream videos on a certain web player....

    hope this helps...

  4. It is a freebie from Microsoft that makes it easier to do certain things.
