What exactly is a 'Fall Out Boy'? Can you explain?

fall out boy is indeed my favorite band but i'm not really sure what a 'fall out boy' truely is. i have a image in my mind but i'm probly off. so if you could try to explain this to me i would greatly apppeaciate it.

its a reference to the Simpsons. They have a batman-like cartoon character called Radioactive Man, and his side kick is Fall Out Boy

When they first started out, they were performing somewhere, and people were asking what their name was.  They said they didn&#039;t have a name, and asked for suggestions from the audience.  Somebody said &quot;Fallout Boy&quot;, a reference to a comic book action hero from the show The Simpsons.  I guess they liked it, because it stuck.

They had to change the lettering of it, so they wouldn&#039;t be infringing on The Simpsons copyright.
