The people who help coroners and medical investigators find out what was going on in someones head after death, are forensic psychiatrists. They go through the person's life leading up to the death. Many universities that offer doctorate programs in psychiatry will offer forensic psychiatry. I have a friend who is doing her masters/doctorate program in, either Seattle or Fresno Ca. She is leaning towards the Seattle program because they offer clinical psychiatry and, after the clinical aspect, she can go on to a forensic aspect. The Ca program only offers the forensic aspect and she thinks that she would be more rounded as a psychiatrist if she has the clinical aspect too. Lots of stuff to think about.
