What exactly is a Monologue? (any examples?)?

i have to write an assessment task in "monologue" form and am a bit confused, if you could even just get me started that would be great.

  1. a monolouge is one person talking. often, its a person expressing their feelings or giving an opinion. for example, on some reality t.v. shows they show the cast individually, talking about a specific event.


  2. A speech by only a single person. It can cover any subject.

  3. A monologue is a story, or a speech by one person, to be spoken out loud.Mono + one. Logue + speaking.

    One of my favourites is the story of Albert and the Lion, which is in rhyme, and starts:

    "There's a famous seaside place called Blackpool

    That's noted for fresh and fun.

    And Mr. and Mrs Ramsbottom

    Went there with young Albert, their son"

    It goes on to tell how Albert was eaten by a lion in the zoo.
