  1. Isnt' it a black board?

  2. blank boards are only good if they are not made in china and are rock hard american or canadian maple....only then should you trust blank boards...... i highly recommend a minilogo or a blank atm.........really high quality n minilogos are sst slide treated so they slide longer n betr       only blank boards that are made in china are crappy blank boards r boards without any graphics on the bottom except maybe a small logo.......yes blank boards kan be kompletes like a minilogo or some atm boards chek out minilogoskateboards.com or atmclick.com

  3. a blank board is just a board... which happens to be blank.

the board is most likely of the same quality as the other boards by the manufacture.

when buying a blank board you'll only get the deck, but often you can get a good deal if you're buying trucks and wheels with it, an since 48, 50, 52 and 54 are normal size wheels that's most likely what you'll be offered..

  4. Blank boards are boards that aren't as good as pro models .

Theyre not pro models they usually don't even have a design or graphic but that doesn't matter .

  5. blank boards are cheaper.  they will not be the same quality, go down to a local skate shop and ask for a good blank. they are usally sold as decks but can be bought as a complete. make sure the deck is made with canadian maple and not something from china.

Blank skateboard products are mostly decks that are made without any company name attached to them. they are generic and usually just one color if any at all. yes they do make completes but id would be better just to get the deck and make a custom complete but that may be to much for you to think about for now.

wheels can be bought seprate but if ur getting a set that comes with the deck its will be 48-54 most likely a 52

you can also get a shop deck, go down to a local skateshop ask for a shop deck they will be more reliable than blanks but still just as cheap. pro decks only cost more because some of the money has to go to support the pro skaters that are sponsered by that company

  6. it's really only the deck you are buying when you buy a blank.

They do come in different brands but they're all just as good as skateboard brands and it's just a matter of opinion (like some people like zero over plan B and vice versa)

Blanks are much cheaper because they don't have any art on their bottom so they come at about 1/4 of the price or even more. They are basically the same quality though.

You can buy them as completes, but I don't suggest you buy ANYTHING as a complete. It's a waste of money. Buy certain parts and just put the board together...

Here's a guide to what you need to know for building a skateboard:

Decks will break pretty easily...so buy a brand like canadian Maple.

The size of the deck is very important. 8'' is better for stability and balance but is harder to flip than a 7.5'' deck. Length doesn't matter.

If you're going to buy a pro board then buy one of these:

Plan B, Almost, Black Label, Baker, Zero, Enjoi, Girl, PIG Etc..

Wheels: If you are street skating and not vert skating (on ramps) then the smaller and harder the wheels, the better. I like getting 50-54 mm and something above 97AA hardness.

Trucks: Trucks are the things that come out of the bottom of the skateboard. They hold the wheels. They are important because they can be lighter, more durable or better for grinding. The major good ones are independents, krux, ventures, and thunders. Some people really like destructos and Silvers.

Bearings: These are the things inside your wheels that let it spin. They kind of determine how fast you go...personally, unless you're pro, these don't matter as long as they are brand name. Buy something like Bones Reds Or Swiss...they are relatively cheap.

Grip Tape: This is the thing that goes onto the deck. It will help you grip the board better. It is usually black and sand paper like. Any grip tape is good and they normally come free with a deck. Some good ones are MOB, Jessup, and Black Magic.

This is really all you need to know for now. There are a lot of lessons on youtube that will help you a lot. I've just started myself and have done a lot of research. The above is what I've come up with :). E-mail me with any questions and I'll hopefully come up with answers :)
