  1. Blogs are web logs that are updated regularly, usually on a daily basis. They contain information related to a specific topic. In some cases blogs are used as daily diaries about people's personal lives, political views, or even as social commentaries. The truth of the matter is that blogs can be shaped into whatever you, the author, want them to be.

    Where Did Blogs Come From?

The roots of blogging can be traced back to the mid 1990's. Who the very first blogger actually was is unclear, as the art of blogging did not really take hold until 1999. The original "weblogs" were link-driven sites with personal commentaries. The very first blogs were human guided Internet web tours. While initially thought of as diaries or online journals, blogs have evolved into the latest fresh web content.

  4. A blog is a type of web site, commonly used an online journal of a person's thoughts. People typically read blogs out of curiosity about other people's lives and opinions. The specific definition of a blog is still up for debate - as it has more uses than just an online diary. See these posts:

    Popular, free blogging services:

    Blogger/Blogspot (http://blogger.com ), Wordpress (http://wordpress.com ) and Livejournal (http://livejournal.com ).

I use Yahoo! 360 (http://360.yahoo.com/kee_y360 ), which a social-networking service that features a blog. Since you have a Yahoo ID you can create a 360 space as well.

While logged into a yahoo service (mail, answers, whatever), type 360.yahoo.com in your web browser's address field (or just type 360 in a Yahoo! toolbar). Start creating your 360 space from there. Click the "Get Started" on the far right section of that page. Click the "Yahoo! 360 Home" link on the upper right corner of the page to enter the space. For more details on how to set up elements of your 360 space, see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/ . Keep in mind that 360 is a beta service, so there are many bugs. A good blog to me:

    1) Mainly, is one that is authentic. Your thoughts, your creative background, your interests - there's only one "you," so be expressive! I know, that's corny, but it's true.

    2) Keep it updated.

    3) Theme... is your blog a commentary on the latest news? Is it a diatribe about activities in your daily life? Is it only about your pet's quirks? A theme isn't necessary, but a purpose helps. Now, if you just want to write anything that comes to mind, well, try to make it sound like an interesting read.

    4) A sense of fun - humor always helps.
