  1. A computer system is a computer.

Ie: HP 2159 has an Intel Core 2 Duo e6300 and a Compaq 2190 has an AMD Sempron 3100. (those system names/specifications are made up for illustrative purposes)

The processor is the "intel/amd <modelnumber> at <speed in GHz>", and a computer system is the computer itself. It's like two different models of car. You have your Chevrolet Malibu and a Honda Accord. Two different models of car.

  2. A "system" means all the components of a computer that makes it workable.  Includes the tower (which includes the processor, power supply, RAM, hard drive, disk drives, etc), the monitor, the keyboard, the mouse and the speakers.  EVERYTHING that is needed to use that computer correctly.  Does not technically include external components such as USB devices, routers, modems, etc.
