  1. The inside of a wood bat is drill out and then cork is inserted. Cork is light than wood, light bat=higher bat speed=more power.

  2. As others have been saying, corking a bat means drilling out the core of a bat's barrel and filling it with lightweight cork, which makes the bat lighter (though it also makes it easier to break, and thus get caught corking heh).

A lighter bat means you can swing it faster - which doesnt actually mean you can hit farther, since the lighter-weight bat also doesnt transfer as much momentum to the ball when you do hit it.

What more bat speed does do, though, is let you start your swing later - giving you more time to watch the ball and see how its moving, meaning its much easier to make a good swing and make good contact, which will make you hit better.

Thats the same reason steroids give an advantage to hitters, even though muscle by itself might not directly help you hit more accurately.

  3. a bat with a cork in the middle

  4. A bat which is hollowed out a little and cork shoved in it. It's supposed to make the ball go futher, but i think it's bs.

  5. It's where a wood bat is hollowed out and cork put inside.

But Myth Busters proved that corking your bat actually DOESN'T make the ball go farther or hit it harder. A wood bat does.

  6. a corked bat is a specially modified baseball bat that has been filled with cork or similar light, less dense substances to make the bat lighter without losing much power.

  7. It's a bat that's lighter so you can hit harder in baseball, look up sammy sosa. It's made of cork
