What exactly is a jib?

i mean like a jib park and what not i hear this term all the time but i have never actually thought about what the term ment

not as in sailing

basically anything on a snowboard but hitting a huge jump or slashing an awesome powder line

It's like doing rail grinds and ollies when skateboarding.  

Jumping and riding on obstacles and doing tricks and jumps off of them.
