  1. Well when I worked at the bank a personal banker was a teller. He / she dealt with deposits , withdrawls , cashing checks , and any account questions. You dont have to be good at math the computer does most of the work for you. As long as you know basic math youll be fine. It is a very good job and a great way to get your foot in the door. I started as a teller (personal banker) and worked my way up, before I had my daughter I was working in the wire dept @ banks central operations and loved it. Im not sure where you live since every state pays different but the pay is usually good a lot better than minimum wage.

Best of luck to you =)

  2. "personal banker" can refer to private wealth management professionals.

Many commercial banks have pwm divisions that provide special services to high-net and ultra-high-net worth individuals.

These people can be responsible for a range of things, such as helping wealthy individuals invest their money, create trusts for their children, assist in philantrophy efforts, and the list goes on....any financial service need for the wealthy individual.

usually these people have to be very polished, great social skills, great econ/finance/business knowledge, be able to gain trust, etc etc.

I believe in terms of payment it can vary greatly. It's a lot like real estate agents in that the very skilled few who sell multi-million dollar estates get huge comissions (percentages) while others make a much more modest living.
