What exactly is a "bio"?

Hello everyone,

I'm from switzerland & in summer i'll leave for canada, for an exchange year. I just got to knot my host family and now received an e-mail from my host father and he wants me to send him my "bio" (biography)

And now - what does he expect? Something like a resume? Or something else?

Tell them about yourself. They probably want to know what your hobbies are and things like that. Maybe even include your favorite food.

He wants you to tell about someone's life.

It's kinda like your life story... Just write about you... tell him things you have done... things you like... you know... your interests and stuff... let him get to know you
