A "feminized" man is one who has completely failed to develop such positive masculine qualities as physical courage and assertive self confidence. Sometimes these men are feminized through the brow-beating of academic feminist gobbly-gak, but that is not the majority of cases. Most feminized men are hardly feminist--they were not created by exposure to feminist ideology, but rather through being raised up in a candy-***, flabby, chicken-S**t culture. Well, I would concede that academic feminist gobbly gak has played a role in creating a candy ***, flabby, chicken S**t culture.

But like I said, most feminized men are not feminist--they are, in fact, among the most misogynist men in society, because feminized men tend to not do very well with the ladies, and hence develop resentment. I would bet that a very high percentage of misogynist trolls on Y!A G&WS are extremely feminized couch potatoes.

A feminized man is not a man who gives expression to various feminine aspects of his being--that is a well-rounded man.

I think "feminised man" is a term used to express contempt for women-as well as a way to enforce rigid gender roles onto men as well as women. What a sick idea-that the worst thing a man could be-is feminine. Just what is feminine-that it is so awful? What really is meant by the words feminine or masculine? What qualities are truly innate-that only one gender is capable of? I don't believe that men are the ones who are only capable of being assertive and confident and that only women are capable of being caring and empathetic. This rigid idea of what a man or woman is suppose to be is so limiting-to both genders. I feel sorry for people who live in such small little boxes.

bashing men for having "feminine" qualities is practicing intolerance, and being homophobic and misogynist. men have all different sides to them - when other men (or women) suppress men's "feminine" side (because, apparently being feminine is horrid) they are not allowing human beings to express their personal natures.

I think there's a difference between a feminine man and a feminised man.

A feminine man naturally has characteristics which are considered to be more "female", for example he may like to share his feelings with his friends. If this is his true self, then there's nothing wrong with it.

A feminised man, to me, is a man who's lost sight of his natural self in an effort to please women. He may not feel secure in his role, yet he does it simply because he feels it's the politically correct thing to do.

Embracing the feminine, fine... but it can be difficult to tell which men have genuinely chosen to be feminine and which have been encouraged into it by society.
