i know that people get rich off of it but how and why do i always hear on the news the DOW has dropped 4 points or 2.5% and the nastech too what does this mean and how can someone become rich off it

The stock market is where stocks get traded.

A stock is a share of a company. Every business day, the stocks get traded. The price at which is traded depends on how much investor is willing to buy a share of the company for. NASDAQ and the DOW Jones is the biggest stock market in the world. NASDAQ has over 3000 company listings.
