What exactly is at a hookah bar?

My boyfriend goes to the hookah bar, i know that you smoke, but what else is at the bar.. i dont care that he smokes i just want to know what else hes doing. can anyone tell me what goes on in there?

They serve non-alcoholic drinks and some also serve food. They play Middle Eastern music and some people play backgammon. You should go with him; they're fun.

I went to a hookah bar in Israel once. It was really cool... there was chilled out music and you could buy drinks, but the main attraction was a huge water hookah at every table that they packed with flavored tobacco.

Of course, I've been off tobacco for over 5 years now and I would never go to one now, but it was a cool experience.
