What exactly is cave tubing & is it fun?

Going to Belize and I keep hearing about cave tubing, I've also seen pictures of it & it just looks like people floating on an inflatable donut going through a dark cave. Frankly, looks boring. Tell the truth is it worth the money?

I loved it. Mine included a local lunch. Chicken, red beans and rice and a drink. Then we had a short hike up to the top through the rainforest. And I was with a group of 7, my family. It really was fun. The tour guide gave a very interesting talk on the bus on the way out. He also answered any questions we had and i learned a lot. The cave is actually a couple of caves that are connected and between them the light shines through in spots, so its not pitch dark. The water is quite shallow and a nice temperature. It's one of my top 3 excusions of all times. And I've been to 11 Caribbean islands and 3 counties.

It's a total blast and unlike anything we have ever done. You jump into this lime green water and start floating through the dark eerie cave. Everything becomes strangely quiet and you get the feeling you're completely cut off from the world.

You wonder what's swimming underneath you, even though nothing ever bothered us. At some point, the guide has everyone turn off their lights and you plunge into total darkness. I didn't hear a single person in our group of 20 think it wasn't great.

I strongly recommend it. It wasn't exciting, but it was very different and fully worth the time and money.

Belize is a great port to go to.  Cave tubing is the best.  If you want to make it more exciting, think about all the movies you've seen where people go into dark places.  Make it exciting.  For me tho, I didn't need any imagination, I just loved the experience myself.  It's work the money, especially because you will be doing something there that you can't do back home.
