I am very interested in making a fantasy team with my friends and i need to know the basics

i don't like fansty football, when i play my team seems to have a bad year and miss the playoffs when i do not play we go to the playoffs, but its about picking players from various teams and hope that they will accumulate good stats so you can earn points

Basically you draft a bunch of players for your team and you get points depending on how each performs.
