  1. A hernia is when tissues push through an opening where they are not supposed to be. This can be around the belly button (abdominal or umbilical) or, most common in men, is in the genital area (inguinal). The intestines can enter the s*****m through the inguinal ring (the opening for the spermatic cord) and this is called an indirect inguinal hernia. A direct inguinal hernia is when the intestines push through a weakened area of the abdominal muscles.

There are different types of hernias. There are hiatal hernias, abdominal hernias, herniated discs, inguinal hernias, etc. A lot of hernias are left alone on a "wait and see" basis. If there is the possibility of the intestine becoming strangulated, then surgery is a must.

You do not always have to miss work for a hernia. Some hernias are not bothersome and people live with them. Some are worse and need repair. Surgery to repair them can be laparoscopic or open. Laparoscopic surgeries have less pain and a shorter recovery time than open surgery. Recovery from laparoscopic surgery is generally 2 weeks whereas open surgery has an average recovery of 6 weeks.

  2. hernia is a protrusion of tissue or part of organ through a membrane or muscular tissues that contain it. there are differents types of hernia such as femoral hernia, umbilical hernia, but the most common one is the inguinal hernia. inguinal hernia mostly happen in male. hernia can become bigger as time passed and aggrevates by heavy and strenous activities. some hernia need no treatment while others need surgical repair.
