  1. from the top of my head:

it can be used to clean wounds, or bleach hair, as an antiseptic

    chemical formula HO (or OH)

edit: wiki says it's H2O2 hehe

  2. a kind of bleach/disinfectant/antiseptic.  it is also used as an oxidiser in rocket fuel and an accelerant in home made bombs

  3. Bleach.

    Usually used to lighten/whiten hair.

It is also used in perms.   Perm lotion puts the curl there.  Peroxide locks it in.

  4. It's a mild bleach. Chemical constituency of h2o2 (so like water, but with an extra oxygen atom in each molecule).

Used a lot in dying and other colouring processes, but don't think it 'fixes' as well as more complex compounds.

I think it can also be used in the treatment of some ailments - or used to be 50 yrs ago.

It's caustic, but not like an acid. I've put my hand into a bowl of it (by accident) - it looks like water - with no ill effects :-)
