  1. The owner.

He is your basic a***e to put it mildly.  Money hungry, two faced, sell out, weak and not a people person to understand these players.  He will say one thing and do another including lying through his teeth to the media and kissing a players **** a minute later. (via email of course because he doesn't have the balls to show up in person)

High ticket prices, more money (look what he has turned Fenway in to, one giant billboard) expand and soak it to the great Boston fan.

Everything about the team is good except for the owner and Manny has to deal with it first hand.

If the owner is dumb enough to not shut his trap and man up then they will lose another great player.

  2. I don't know if you can blame the Red Sox.  Simply say "Manny being Manny."

  3. Media

  4. He feels that they never gave him the respect he deserved. He was brought into the organization from the previous management team. The current management of the Red Sox don't like his on field antics and attitude. Manny feels like he is the best player on the team and feels that he deserves the respect that brings. He feels that the ownership has not given him that respect (they have constantly looked to trade or waive him). I really can't blame Manny. If the Red Sox trade him it will be a huge mistake and will make their lineup far less potent. Manny is a feared hitter and has perennially destroyed the Yankees much to my dismay.

  5. Um, those blood colored helmets?

Who really cares if Manny chooses to bad mouth his employer?

"We" all wish we could "bad mouth" our employer too.

So the Red Sox "fire" Manny and then what? All h**l would break loose.

Reams and reams of Red Sox publicity.

Then a reconciliation, "more reams of Red Sox publicity".

And then we start all over again.

Sheesh! Some thing things never change.

  6. I believe it started over him feeling disrespected that the Red Sox didn't pick up his option for next year already. He feels like he earned the extension by bringing 2 world series titles to Boston. (I feel he does too, but thats besides the point.)
