  1. Lockjaw is an archaic name for Tetanus. It is caused by a blood disorder which is usually caused by an infection entering the bloodstream from a wound. It pays to have an anti-tetanus injection and a regular booster to keep up the level of defence.I do know of a person who scratched himself on a rusty nail and contacted the disease. Not nice.

  2. Its like when u try to open ur mouth. It hurts realllyyy bad and u cant really open ur mouth that wide..

  3. your jaw locks and you cant move it. my friend has it.

  4. I have it :( and it sucks. I cant open my mouth as wide as everyone else because it just stops and really hurts if i try to fource it! Dont know if ill ever be able to open it, because its not dentist related and iv had a chiropractor look at it too. Many people who get locked jaw, it just lasts for a while and eases its way back to normal.

  5. If you mean actual lockjaw then its a disease which affects your system.

If you mean the kind when you open your mouth and can't close it again its either that you're jaw has shifted and the bones are hitting eachother or that you opened it too quick and the muscles spasmed. You either have to move your jaw side to side until it unlocks, or just wait until the muscles relax again!

  6. Tetanus, commonly called lockjaw, is a bacterial disease that affects the nervous system. As a result of widespread immunization, tetanus is now a rare disease.
