um, i'm supposed to write a response to this quote, "O ye Mortals, mark these comandments-- the comandments which the wise LoRd has given, for happiness and for pain. Long punishment for the evil-doer, and bliss for the follower of truth the joy of salvation for the rightoeusness ever afterwards!"

i'm not quite sure what this is reffering to, and neither does my mentor, so please help!

thanks so much!!

  1. Sounds like Christian bible babble doesn't it? Obey or die! Zoroastrianism is the origin of Christianity.

  2. He was the first known messiah, although given eternity, that seems to be a bit of a limited conclusion. These lyrics sound like one of his followers or disciples referring to what He said. Instead of writing what he said down like the apostles did with Jesus, they made songs of what He said which then went to form the religion.

Zoroaster (Latinized from Greek variants) or Zarathushtra (from Avestan Zaraθuštra), also referred to as Zartosht (Persian: زرتشت), was an ancient Iranian prophet and religious poet. The hymns attributed to him, the Gathas, are at the liturgical core of Zoroastrianism.
