What exactly is seaglass, how is it different from regular glass, and where does it come from?

I love the beach, and spend lots of time walking on the beach with my younger cousins, collecting seaglass.

We have always wondered this.

What exactly is seaglass , how's it different from regular glass, and where does it come from?

It is glass pieces from bottles and other objects that is thrown into the ocean that eventually make it on shore with a bit of wear and tear from being washed around with sand.

Sea glass is just broken glass which as been worn down by the ocean, tides and sand. It is generally smooth on all sides and slightly scratched.
