What exactly is supposed to cause the pole shift of earth in 2012 Nibiru or the sun aligned with the galaxy? I saw this special on 2012 that talked about pole shifts will occur due to the sun and earth bieng perfectly aligned with the galaxy that happens only once every 25,000 years or somthin like that. If that is so what does Nibiru (planet X) have to do with anything?

The poles aren't going to shift in 2012.

What happens every 25,000 years is the line of solstices pointing towards the galactic plane. The lines of solstices and equinoxes are part of a coordinate reference system for use within the solar system. What these lines happen to be pointing towards, thousands of light years outside the solar system, is immaterial. It means about as much as a pencil on your desk pointing towards New York.

By the way, Nibiru doesn't exist.

Nibiru doesn't exist, earth aligns with the center of the galaxy twice a year, and pole reversals take hundreds of years, one isn't going to happen in 2012 (and they're not caused by galactic alignment which has no effect on earth at all.)

what does 2012 have to do with Niburu?  2012 is a bandwagon that the Niburu hoaxers jumped on after nothing happened in 2003.  Originally, according to the Niburu guys, we were all supposed to die in 2003.  After 2003, when nothing happened, they weren't arrested or even ridiculed, they were mostly forgotten... at least long enought to predict that 2012 was their next 'Oh, my god the sky is falling!' date.
