  1. Kinetic Energy Recovery System. It is a system that takes the energy from braking a car and transforms it into electricity to be used as an electrical power source. So it is much like a Hybrid vehicle where gasoline will be used as the primary energy source with the collected energy being used to supplement it. The difference is that a Hybrid stores the electricity in a battery, the KERS system does not, it uses a special flywheel. KERS is planned to be introduced on Formula 1 racing cars next year.

  2. .

    The above answers are correct.

A little known fact is that it was invented by a gentleman called Wayne.

This Wayne KERS device will be introduced into F1 in 2009!

  3. very well dudes... its principle / logic is like a turbine system in an aircraft jet engine. Kinetic energy is being regenerated and converted into electricity.

  5. KERS, it stands for kinetic energy recovery system.

Its designed to store/ use wasted energy eg braking force.

It will probably stored in a battery or used mechanically in a geared flywheel.

All designed to try and make F1 more enviromentally friendly?!!

Every team will have to use it from the start of the 2009 season.

There have alreday been teething issues, a BMW mechanic recived a massive electric shock from the bodyshell of an adapted F1 BMW just last week, hes ok now.
