1. mark martin fan is right. It is one of the best things you will ever experience. I am only 16 yrs old but I went to the races in Seattle last yr. for my first time and it was AMAZING. I went back this year and plan on going as much as i can. It is so cool to be back there when they start the cars and to be able to walk right up to your favorite driver and have them sign something, get a picture with them or even have a conversation with them. I hope you guys have an amazing time.

  2. What Mark Martin said. Every ticket to an NHRA event is also a pit pass. At Gateway in St. Louis, once you walk through the gate you ARE in the pit's. You have to walk through the pits to get to the grandstands.

NHRA is the most fan friendly motorsport there is.

EDIT: I just re-read your question so just in-case....the "pits" is the area where all the race cars are parked and worked on before and in-between races.

In Nascar, for example, you have to buy a pit pass above the regular admission ticket to get close to the car's and drivers in the 'pits'. Those passes are few and expensive.

At an NHRA event, everyone get's in the pits for free.

  3. Any ticket, to any NHRA National Pro event is a Pit Pass, it means you're allowed to walk around in the Pit Area among the race cars and their haulers, watch the pit crews work between rounds, meet drivers and get autographs (usually the best time to do this is about 10 minutes after a run, once the pit crew debrief is done) and be RIGHT next to a TF Dragster when they start it up to set the clutch and do other tune up stuff, which standing next to a Top Fueler is the noisiest, smelliest (nitro methane baby!) most beautiful experience you can ever, ever have! So, have fun, enjoy the drag races and I promise, you'll want to go back every year!
