What exactly is the best curriculum for 10th grader in Louisiana?

So my mom and I have decided that she wants to try homeschooling me. We are going to the school board office to get the paper in the next few days and fill it out, then send it to the state board of education. What were not sure not about though is the whole curriculum (spelling) thing. Like where to get it and who to get it from? Also, when my mother sends in the paper to the state people can they decline the paper. Like say no that mom cannot homeschool me. Because I have a bad attendance problem and my mom said that she thinks they may decline it because of that. But i mean i thought that maybe that would be a good reason to homeschool a child. I'm not a bad child, I make average grades such as B's and C's. But I am failing Geometry because my teacher doesnt answer any of my questions. But i have never been in trouble at school. I just have a lot of absences. Thanks for all the help.

There are boxed, or grade specific curriculum's you can buy, and that may work for you.

The best curriculum is not always a grade specific one.

The best curriculum is what works for you, with each subject adjusted to your level.

As a home schooler you can work at different levels in each subject if you'd like, as well as work at your own pace to catch up, or move ahead.

I not real sure, but, would think the regular stuff and then some courses that may pertain to what you want to learn in college.

First check with the state and see what requirements they have....states vary on what subjects you must teach/take.  You can find this information by checking with your state homeschool support group or trying HSLDA's site: http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp?St...

Once you know what specific topics you must learn, you can begin shopping!  Usually there will be a local homeschool support group in your area which you can get input and support from as well.

I personally would discuss how you learn best with your mom.  Are you computer savvy?  Switched on School house,Abeka, and Bob Jones have online programs that are generally accepted and thorough.  If you like reading, there are lots of literature based programs.  One is Beautiful Feet Books.  Some of my favorite homeschool shopping places are R.O.C.K. solid homeschooling and Veritas Press.  Rainbow Resource is also a cheap and thorough place to buy curriculum.  Some states have online programs where you are signed up through the public school but take all your courses online.  You might ask your school district for info on that.  Some are free.

OK No the state can't deny you because of your attendance! What paper? I sent you an email that had a basic copy of the letter you send to Dr Asyenne. All you need to do is send that letter. As for ciriculliums try Christian Libery Press or if you are looking for a charter (online) I hear a lot about Penn Foster here.
