What exactly is the law on the la jolla 2-hour parking stalls ?

Please no dumb answers , or what you think it is . I'm looking for the law and i want a website to prove it so i can show the cop next time at work. thanks

The signs should be pretty clear.  

If not, you can look up the law by googling "California Vehicle Code" or "City of San Diego Ordinances".

No parking or stopping for more than two hours between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. without a permit; and the erection of signs identifying the hours of the parking restrictions and demarcating the restricted areas....
