  1. Its not necessary. I am doing one to show case my dress just in case we don't get any good pics at the wedding and to cut down on stress of having to get that perfect dress picture. Plus, a bridal session comes free with my photo package, so I will have more time to spend one on one with a photographer and have some really unique pictures done around the city in places I wouldn't be able to do it if I just settled for ceremony pictures.

We are putting my bridal portrait on a table next to the guest book. I've seen that done at other weddings and it looks beautiful. Its just a nice way of showcasing the bride and how beautiful she is and how stunning she looks in her dress.

  2. It is not absolutely necessary but its just a chance to have one professional, gorgeous and dramatic picture of you in your dress without the stress of trying to have every photo be perfect on your wedding day.

They're not necessary but like I said, portraits tend to be bold and beautiful and dramatic and it will be awesome to look back on in the years to come. Im definitely having one done, not only for the album, but im sure our parents would love having a beautiful picture of the bride on her wedding day

If your budget accomodates it you should definitely have one done.

  3. just a keepsake, memories but no its not necessary but lots of brides like to have just for memories that's all.

  4. Its not necessary!  Its just more time to take photos of just you in your dress.  you can book an extra 2 hours before the wedding to do it that day if you ahve time as well.

  5. oh not necessary at all.  I don't know if you are refering to an engagement photo session or where the bride actually puts on her dress and everything.

A lot of photographers insist (or strongly recommend) and engagement session.  They get to know you and your fiance and you guys get comfortable with each other so on the wedding day you already know each other's styles and how far they can push you etc etc.

For the other one where they dress up and do all the photos before the wedding.  I don't know why people do this.  I am not a traditionalist but I still think my fiance shouldn't see me in my dress until i'm walking down the isle.  photos can be down in the hour and a half between ceremony and reception.
