  1. You steal them, take them to different countries, take pictures of them to send back to the original owners.  This  is supposed to make the original owners a. mad or b. perplexed.

    Because of the above, as a brilliant ad executive you can put them into a travel ad & make your potential customers a. laugh hysterically and use your service or b. vomit.


  2. they are there to advertise to double glazing /energy company salespeople/god botherers and all other time wasters who knock on your door that you are

    a)stupid

    b)gullible

    c)have money to waste on c**p

    d)no taste or style whatsoever

    they also come in handy for catching all the wind blown rubbish in the street, thus turning your garden into an exhibition to captivate the attention of the judges in the British isles decade long festival of litter

  3. I don't know, there was one here when I moved in. It's got a little shovel but it hasn't done any weeding. I didn't have the heart to throw it away, even tho I don't like it. I think it's fell over now, under a bush.

  4. To shoot with my mate's air rifle. We was gonna shoot down pigeons coz they're classed as vermin but his mom said we couldn't so we.....couldn't. We could still shoot people up the arѕe through the letterbox though. :-D

  7. to scare away the slugs and snails, well not so much snails as I think they sometimes feature with gnomes, but definately slugs, and fish maybe as gnomes always tend to have a fish on a line.... poor things

  8. Decoration and some people believe they have spirits - those people tend to be the older more senile gnome owners I imagine

  12. i dunno, but i have a cat in a welly boot in my garden, it came with the house, have no idea what the point of it is, and it's obvious why they left it

  19. They are supposed to be decorative. You don't see them much here in India and the only one i've seen was used as a prop to hold up a trellis for the creeping fern!

  21. The garden gnome is there to ward off unwanted visitors to the house.  People think twice about going by a garden gnome - I mean, everyone knows, don't they?  that GNomes possess magical powers and in some circumstances, have been the cause of a premature death of such as the burglars etc.

  22. Well, Gnomes are ferociously territorial and live underground, mainly. This means that Gnome infestation looks like moles or rabbits to the inexperienced eye. Gnomes eat the fish out of your pond and the roots of the plants that you plant as well as deliberately cultivating weeds for their narcotic effect when fermented. By having a tough set of artificial gnomes you can deter wild gnomes from moving in.
