  1. Maybe a player that can play 3 positions well, like Scottie Pippen (retired), actually he played all 5 positions before. He was never center on offense but you will see him guarding centers here and there. He was a master at the point guard, shooting guard and his natural position small forward. You might be thinking of a tripple double, which is when a player has over double digits in a three category, ex. over 10 points, over 10 rebounds, over 10 assist..........

  2. Oh my god. My coach had us remember the exact definintion of it because our coach loved the position so much. Our AAU team was actually called "Triple Threat".

The most fundmental, offensive position where you can dribble, pass, or shoot.

  3. What up Troy R,

The Triple Threat position is catching the ball in a position where you can shoot, drive, or shoot.  i think Kobe Bryant is one of the best at catching the ball where he can release a shot right away- or use a pump fake to drive and finish or drive and kick.  How you catch the ball, along with a fast first step is the key to really being able to sell the triple threat.  You also have to be a pretty good shooter- so people won't give you so much space that you're not a threat to drive- but where they'll run after you with a pump or head fake.

    Hope that helps. Kindly,

    Nickster

  4. Triple Threat position is when you catch the ball in a position that allows you to pass, dribble, or shoot (hence triple). To actually be in triple threat position your ankles, knees, and hips should be bent so your in an athletic position. If you've caught the ball and can't immediatly shoot, then the ball should be held firmly with your elbows out. So now you are protecting the ball, and are ready to make your next move. Another essential part of being in triple threat is facing the basket. You are no threat otherwise. For this reason I think David West of the New Orleans Hornets is one of the best at the triple threat position.
