What exactly is the war iraq about?

I've heard many different things such as terrorism and oil and that it is bush' fault... but i would like to hear from someone in the military or has served time in iraq... also...are innocent ppl (in iraq) dying?

Originally it was about Weapons of Mass Destruction. But, over the years, the US realized they couldn't find anything. People blame Bush because its easy to point the finger at him and call him a "evil." But if you think about it, if you were the president and the United States Intelligence, British Intelligence and Russian Intelligence tell you that their are WMDs in Iraq, would you ignore the evidence? I think not.

At this point, I don't think it matters why the war started (whether you agree or disagree with it).

What it's about now, it stabilizing this country enough so that can take the reigns from us and govern/police themselves.

I was wondering the same thing, I think that people in Iraq may not even know why they are there. At first it was believed that it was about "weapons of mass destruction", then oil, now I don't know what it is about now.
