  1. tumbling is just the flips from floor.....if your daughter likes any other part of gymnastics besides tumbling then she should stick with gymnastics.....but if she really enjoys tumbling.....or if she needs a little extra help.....you can do both (time and financially permitting)

  2. Tumbling is a part of gymnastics and a sport in itself. Tumbling is acrobatic moves in succession where the body twists and turns through the air.

When a gymnast runs and flips from corner to corner on the floor, she or he is tumbling. It is NOT the entire floor routine, as those routines require jumps, moves demonstrating flexibility, and dance.

Tumbling as a sport is done on a tumble track, which is a springy padded surface about 25 meters long. In competitions the gymnasts have six seconds to tumble down the track with moves in succession and land on there feet on a padded mat at the end.

If your daughter like beam, vault, bars, as well as dance moves, gymnastics would be the better option. If she mainly likes to turn and flip, tumbling would be the better choice.

  3. Tumbling is just the floor exercise of gymnastics. No bars no beam no vault just the floor. And they work on all the skills that you would do on the floor. Such as back handsprings, cart wheels, hand stands, walk overs and so on. Depending on how good you are.
