  1. not really im myself is vegetarian but vegan is you have no dairy products and no fish or anything like that :]

  2. Vegan is a type of vegetarian.

Vegetarians don't eat meat or slaughter byproducts (anything from a dead animal.)

Vegans don't eat, use, wear, purchase or otherwise consume anything of animal origin whatsoever.  So, we avoid the same foods as vegetarians, but also do not eat eggs, dairy products or honey.  We also don't wear animal fabrics or buy makeup, toiletries and the like that are made with animal ingredients or tested on animals.

  3. Sort of. Vegans do not eat any animal products at all. Vegetarians may eat eggs and dairy.

  4. I think a vegan is a person who does not consume anything related to animal. Like meat, egg, milk, or anything like that. A vegan consume ONLY vegetable and food of the like.

A vegetarian, on the other hand, still eat egg or milk, but does not consume animal meat.

  5. It's like vegetarian only more intense. Not only do they not eat meat, they also don't eat things that come out of animals. For example, milk. They don't eat dairy.

  6. Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind.

Vegetarianism is the practice of a diet that excludes all meat, including poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea, and slaughter by-products.The reasons for choosing vegetarianism may be related to morality, religion, culture, ethics, aesthetics, environment, society, economy, politics, taste, or health.

  7. Google is your friend.  Vegetarians don't eat meat, but they still can eat eggs and have milk.  Vegans don't consume or where any animal products.

  8. Similar. Vegan is when you eat nothing that came from an animal. No milk, eggs, meat, fish, cheese, anything that required animal to create they don't eat. Basically you eat vegetables and fruit all the time.

  9. The American Dietetic Association has said that "appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases." However, poorly planned vegan diets can be deficient in nutrients such as vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium, iodine and omega-3 fatty acids. These deficiencies have potentially serious consequences, including anemia, rickets and cretinism in children, and osteomalacia and hypothyroidism in adults.

Deficiencies in Vitamin B12, a bacterial product that cannot be reliably found in plant foods, can have serious health consequences, including anemia and neurodegenerative disease. Although clinical B12 deficiency is rare in vegans, if a person has not eaten more than the daily needed amount of B12 over a long period before becoming a vegan then they may not have built up any significant store of the vitamin. In a 2002 laboratory study, more of the strict vegan participants' B12 and iron levels were compromised than those of lacto- or lacto-ovo-vegetarian participants.

The Vegan Society and Vegan Outreach, and others, recommend that vegans either consistently eat foods fortified with B12 or take a B12 supplement. Tempeh, seaweed, spirulina, organic produce, soil on unwashed vegetables, and intestinal bacteria have not been shown to be reliable sources of B12 for the dietary needs of vegans.

  10. Sort of. Vegetarianism implies that you don't eat any animal flesh at all - that means no fish, no birds, no mammals, no animals whatsoever. However, some vegetarians make exceptions and eat animal products - like eggs, dairy, etc.

Vegans abstain from ALL animal products, they eat an entirely plant based diet, and also make conscious decisions daily to avoid supporting any industry that might exploit animals. They usually choose products that are not tested on animals and that contain no animal ingredients, use natural and green-friendly cleaning methods, reduce their carbon footprint as much as possible, wear no leather products, etc.

  11. yes it is

  12. it's like an extreme version of vegetarian. i have a friend that is a vegan...you cant eat anything that comes from an animal. that includes eggs, honey, etc. so basically you're really limited to what you can eat.

  13. It's like vegetarian only more intense.  Not only do they not eat meat, they also don't eat things that come out of animals.  For example, milk.  They don't eat dairy.
