i grew up next to the reservation and all i heard on tv was this plight but never saw any of it, they got govt handouts, money, food, free cars, but they never went into town to work like those who lived off the reservation did, how many generations should it go on,,and dont say the whites took their land,, indians never really settled they moved around alot also taking each others land from other indians,,

  2. Let me guess, you have sour grapes because the Morongo Indians made money when you were growing up and you didn't. You saw them driven into town while you had to walk, etc. etc. That particular tribe made money by leasing their real estate in Palm Springs and they made income off their gambling operations. You shouldn't feel envious because of their Government Benefits and they shouldn't feel envious of yours either. Supposed you took a portion of your Military Pension (which you earned) and invested it in a business and that business took off and earned you millions of dollars in profits? Isn't the government still obligated to pay you your pension? Of course it is; so stop whining about the good fortune of the Morongos. Create a business instead.
