What exactly would happen if I restore my iPod nano?

I'm having problems, soo I'm thinking about restoring my iPod nano, but does that erase all of my music? I've been trying like crazy to put videos on it, but even though the format has been changed and they're on iTunes, it just won't sync! Soo I figured maybe if I tried the whole "restoring" thing, it may work. The only problem is, I just don't know what restoring does. Please tell me what it does, or if you know how to fix the video problem, please let me know. Thank you.

  1. no restoring will not erase all your music, just press the menu button and center button at the same time for the 3rd generation ipod nano, but if you have a 1st generation ipod nano you have to press the menu and the play button at the same time.  Then the apple symbol will come up and you should be good to go

  2. a "restore" will remove everything and re-set the device to factory yes this will erase everything - the above mention of holding the menu and center button is a "reset" - reset will force a re-boot of the software and harware hopefully clearing any glitches - I would deffinately try that first and if that does not work go to the restore  just make sure that you have saved your music on to your PC then you can reload  your nano.
