Question:

What excercises will get me ready to snowboard again?

I had a knee injury last year and want to make sure my knee is strong enough for me to go snowboarding in a month. I didn't have surgery but just went through some physical therapy to strengthen it. I can walk and move normally with it but I don't know if it can take the stress that snowboarding puts on it. It is the knee on my back leg when standing on the board, which is practically bent the whole time and is used to shift the weight when making turns. Please help! I have a trip scheduled for Feb. 20th!

  1. You should seek some professional advice if you are not sure your knee is up to the task.  The folks who did your physio therapy might be good candidates to recommend an exercise regime to prepare you for getting onto the snow again.  The last thing you need is to wreck your knee to the point where you will never snowboard again!

  2. If you put your back up on a wall and do squats that should help. do a lot twice a day.

then do some squat thrusts these should help as well.

And last get one of those bouncy balls and lay your back on it and hold the floor behind you with your hands then try to lift your legs up and down, this will help balance and knees!

also just stretch your knees out before bording and have a little job before aswell.
