What exercises are great in the home to improve my strength for surfing?

  1. pushups, pullups, sit ups, wall squats, Ohhh and get an indo board. They are freakin awesome for helping your balance and strengthening your legs.


  2. push ups and balancing on one leg and stuff like that push ups are good from the ground up to a standing positon just like u was on a board,

  3. You can do a search and probably find a lot of different exercises.  Here's a few static exercises that are not easy and build core strength-

    1. wall squats- just like it sounds, get your back against a wall and squat in a seated position and hold for a minute/or longer.

    2. single leg wall squats- same as above except keep one leg straight in front of you while squat sitting on the other- hold for 15 sec then switch.  do this 2x each side.

    3. lunges- do 25

    4 static lunges- hold a lunge position.  your back leg should be straight, with weight on your front leg bent 90 degrees at the knee.  hold for 30 seconds each side.

    do several sets of these to failure ( when you can't do anymore).  Hope this gives you a good start.

  4. Light weight lifting, any type of endurance training also.
