What exercises are most helpful in increasing punching power?

I don't have a strong punch and want to build up my strength.

  1. bench press, and squat. the guy above me said throw punches with dumbells you can do that with uppercuts, but with other punches use lighter wieghts or it will mess up your shoulders. remember squat and press a lot of wieght, like 4-8 reps, and 3 sets at least.hit the bag everyday

    Between skipping always try to alternate with Push ups (knuckle dips).

    I recommend 3 days of weight training / week.

  3. all the punching power is from the sholder and body, not the arm. but here are some tips.

    get some free weights and like throw upper cuts with them walking, and throw them hard, then hooks and straights if you can. lift for boxing, and once you hti the bag, you will have alot more power.

    but its not about power, its about speed and how many times you hit the guy. its about scoring points round after round, your not gonna knock someone down they have headgear on.

    also, get some 2 or 3lbs weights and shadowbox with them. they'll help your power and snap.

    but make sure you have strong shoulders and legs, the power comes from there.
