  1. Something I only recently heard about, but it makes a lot of sense.  Whatever weight exersize you do, for example, the simple bench press, needs to be done equally in the opposition direction.  So after the bench reps are finished, you need to do some kind of pulling exercise, perhaps hoisting a dumbell at half the bench weight for each arm.  If you want to keep your mobility and handspeed (crucial for powerhitting), then you need to strengthen in both directions to keep from getting clumsy.  Never tried that, but I would have, back in the day, had I known.  I'm not exactly answering your question, just forwarding something I heard about.

  2. proper technique is what will make your punches harder. pivot your feet and twist your hips. go to a boxing gym to learn how to do this.

  3. irish boxers used to punch the bark off tree's,maybe you should just join a gym to work on your forearms and triceps / biceps, this makes the difference, also when u punch, put your body weight into your arm like i do,try swingin your hips like in golf to gain momentum on your punch.

  4. beat some meat. that's what rocky did. lol you have to train your upper body especially the back, that is were you got your power. you have to have speed too. so put weights in your gloves while punching. or punch with weights.

  5. working the heavy bag, bench pressing, and explosive pushups are all good methods of increasing your hitting power

  6. u can think of something that gets u mad than really hit ur punching bag (if u have one) really hard

thats wat i do and it works

    GOOD LUCK!

  7. Clap hand pushups

    Heavybag

    Wall push ups

Medicine ball (partner needed for full benefits)

    Laps in a pool

Bench Press {(Do about 3 reps for 3 sets) use as much weight so that getting 3 reps is hard, and try and to bench it fast and steady)

    Dumbbell Flys  (chest)

    Leg Press

    Sprint Running

    Lunges

    Squats

When doing all these workouts, do a few reps of a few sets which enough weight that makes it difficult and do the reps quick.

The size of your fist can make a big difference in power, if you got small little fists you wont be able to hit as hard. You'd have to mix in speed with power to achieve power with small hands.

So Upper body and leg workouts, power workouts, some people call explosive workouts.

Working out like this though will hurt your agility and will bulk you up slowing you down.

Your best bet is to go for speed, work on decent power and counter punch, counter punching has to be the best style of boxing if your great at it.

In order to build power you need to work out explosivly.

If you truley want to become a good puncher, you need a mix of speed and power and counter punching. You need to learn how to punch. Check out one of my other responses to see some techniques on how to hit harder.
