What exercises can I do to help strengthen my thighs for posting in a trot?

After leaving the riding scene 4 years ago I'm back. I'm having problems posting while trotting. Are there any exercises I can do to help strenghthen my thighs so I can ensure that I'm using my thighs and not my stirrups while posting?

  1. Do wall-sits, about 5 minutes every night will greatly increase the strength of your thighs.

  2. One exercise you can do while riding is posting in the saddle without stirrups. You basically just move your hips forward instead of posting and it helps strengthen your muscles.

    Once you get back the feeling of posting you'll be fine!
